INTRODUCTION

RhinoLINUX is an operating system, which means it is the software that manages the programs, and data that you use on your computer,as well as manages the hardware inside the computer and peripherals such as USB devices and such that you may attach to the PC.

As such it is similar to other well-known desktop operating systems such as Apple?s MacOSX, and the very popular family of Windows operating systems from Microsoft Corp.

RhinoLINUX as the name suggests is part of the Linux family of operating systems.

The RhinoLINUX operating system is based on upstream codebases from Debian, Ubuntu and LinuxMint. The current version is 100% compatible with the "oneiric" class of Ubuntu software.

For Ubuntu users frustrated with the Unity interface, the RhinoLINUX operating system allows one to stay with Ubuntu's software and benefits, while still keeping your options open, and be able to use a modern, desktop interface.

Project ANJI - Oneiric edition

This build, based on Ubuntu 11.10 and LinuxMint 12 upstream components, is codenamed "Oneiric ANJI" in line with Ubuntu's "oneiric ocelot" moniker, and our policy of naming releases after our much-beloved pets. Anji was a very special feral kitten I had in the late 1990's who everybody that knew her loved, sadly she did not make it to adulthood, as she was killed by a reversing truck while exploring.
